Hello

Hi Everyone,

Blogging is a new experience for me and should be fun and interesting to read other people's blogs.

  1. It is mine as well. I'm not sure what the goal is, but as it is for a grade I guess we will all give it a try. Good luck.

I agree with you that this week’s reading assignment was very interesting. Although I like the content of all the books as well as the companion CD, I find the book by Elliot Dasher to be easier to read and comprehend. Consciousness and Healing is also packed full of information, I find it more difficult to comprehend.
Out of all the reading several things stood out but the one that stuck in my mind is actually being able to remember your birth, I did not know our brains are formed enough at birth to comprehend the birth process and be able to recall it under transpersonal psychology.
What are your views…. I think that it would be interesting to implement some of these methods into counseling a client but I think that would be difficult to establish limitations, don’t you?

  3. Hi Shannon,

First, I had to reread the chapters in Schlitz and Amorok because the words were starting to jumble after reading all the assigned chapters. Anyway, I believe with any type of methods, there will be some type of limitation because every person will not fully develop the holistic approach. It would be difficult to adapt the transpersonal approach especially if the person only understand the Western views. I also believe that if a person dealt with an awful tragic in the past, is that person willing conjure the image again? What do you think?

  4. Hello Marivic,

I ahev found myself re reading alot of the information...good thing we are learning some destressign techniques as well. I agree with the concept of Asclepian theory of healing...I see the results at the bedside when we make rounds on our patients. Those that have a spiritual base seem to heal faster and have better attitudes when faced with difficulties
